GCD: Fall Line Up 2010

GCD-940-x-360_thumbnail_finalfinal3

Fall is here and Meg and I are so very excited! We just had our first cool rainy day of the season and I can’t wait for sweaters and football, beef stew and chili; all the good stuff that comes with cooler weather and fresh ideas. We’ve been working on things here at GCD for a while, taking notes and developing ideas, but it’s all finally coming together for the fall and winter season. As we quickly fly through 2010, Meg and I are excitedly planning all kinds of fun for the second half of the year! From new products and events, to the unveiling of some new graphic design work that has been such a pleasure to be a part of. Since Meg quit her job in May to take a full time position here with GCD our life has gone exactly as planned, meaning nothing like we thought. We connected with midwest media & marketing that same month and have been contracting design work with them ever since. An awesome relationship has developed and I’m sure it will continue into the future! To check out some of our work, just jump over to the Graphic Design tab on this very site. For a sneak peak of all we have planned for this fall keep reading!

GUEST BLOG: So I would love the opportunity to introduce you to Chelsea, an amazing little adventurer that will be doing some guest blogging for us this fall. She is the Hawaiian Farm Girl, taking leave of her Kansas roots and flying across the ocean to get a taste of organic community farming in Hawaii! We look forward with anticipation to her first post coming in late September, so stay tuned! She’ll be sharing tips on the techniques of Hawaiian horticulture, and giving us the low down on sleeping in a tree house, while tempting us with photography from paradise and sharing the stories of her life on the islands.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN: More plans coming for the landscape, as I develop my love of all things green. We have fall prep of spring beds, and the start to finish development of new flower beds, from taking out the grass to feeding the soil. I’ve been lucky enough to get blessed with a corkscrew willow tree and about 10 lace bark elms and peach trees. Now all I have to do is find places for them each to live. So get ready for some fun little outdoor projects hopefully nothing to bad before the frost gets here.

PRODUCTS: From Jewelry to the second generation of our Wall Pocket, we’ve been busy little elves getting ready for our fall line. As always the inspiration hits you when you least expect it or when you are least able to take advantage of it. Looking ahead we have a full line of kitchen products planned including taking the quality of our Mixer Covers up a notch and expanding into tea towels and aprons; pictures and postings coming in October! We’re giving everything a bit of an upgrade and taking the advice of our wonderful customers who’ve given us quality feedback while attempting to answer some of those queries with new and better designs. As always if you’re in the Oklahoma City area make sure you stop by SHOP GOOD to check out these new designs. If you’re ever interested in a custom design, convo us through our Etsy site.

EVENTS: Birthdays are here again and wouldn’t you know, GCD is turning 1 year old in December! So get braced for the chatter, and the giveaways as we get closer to the actual day. A new look book and fun new ideas are just around the corner all awaiting the big day to be revealed! It’s been a wonderful year, and we’ve loved sharing it with all of you! So happy summer, and hello fall, it’s time to party!
