STUFF: Girls in White Dresses

It’s hard to believe in less than a week I’ll be boarding a plane for the 2012 Alt. Summit Design Conference! A product of ours (to be revealed next week) was selected to be a part of their goodie bags so we decided to send someone as our Green Couch Design “representative” (yep, my job is just aweful!). I’m nervous and excited all at the same time. Cale just rolls his eyes cause he knows I’ll love it! I know he’s right. I’m not really a “shy” person (um, not at ALL!) but I still get nervous being thrown into a room full of bloggers that I have either never met or stalk admire. With that said it seems Alt. is pushing me into all kinds of new things. I’ve been on the hunt for a white outfit for one of their evening parties. Honestly, I have not shopped for something “white” since my wedding. I’ve been searching for a piece that is sophisticated and simple. This last year I’ve been trying to “tone down” my wardrobe meaning I’m trying to purchase pieces that are intentional and that actually go together. I found myself stuck with a closet full of individual pieces that I liked but that did not go together.

Anyone else have this problem? I’ve found it helps me to visualize the exact piece I’m looking for when I go shopping so that I don’t get distracted with sales or items that grab my attention in the moment (which is not always a bad thing but can also take you over your budget real quick!).

Let me know which piece you like? The outfit I found is similar to image 4. Not really a “dress” but still white none the less!

P.S. I love pearls! It must be that part in me that deep down wishes I grew up a “Southern Bell” or cooked like Julia. :)

I’m going “white” shopping this weekend. I’m going for a “snowpocalypse” look. When I go shopping I ask myself “Will this make me a badass in the post-apocalypse?” If the answer is yes, I’ll buy it. Somehow all of the pieces in my wardrobe go together with this theme in place. Ha.

You’re going to have so much fun and make so many new friends at Alt. I can’t wait to see you there!

I think I may end up with the most random white outfit ever, which may or may not include my wedding veil.

    That’s okay, right?

I think we should ALL do it! Mines sitting in the closet just wasting space. Come on girls, we’ll reenact that episode of Friends. So good!

Kathleen… from what information you’ve given me I see you coming as some sort of ice maiden/princess lady from another world. Either way, this is gonna be good! :)
