2011 has been a year of endurance.
It’s been a year of diligence. Overwhelmed and empty we’ve pushed through and found inspiration and breakthrough on the other side.
It’s been a year of picking our own battles and realizing that there are just some fights you will NEVER win. Being able to accept that feels so good (like that old lady that will always be a little faster than you).
It’s been a year of awkward moments and learning how to be ok with that. Sometimes it’s not about what you can “do” to endure the storm, but simply standing through it (although, we recommend having an umbrella or at least a poncho!).
This year we’ve had to dig deep when we wanted to give up (like when it starts raining even harder on mile 9 of 13.1).
This year we find ourselves ready to cross that finish line (and anxiously awaiting a very HOT & LOOONNNG shower!).
2011 has been a year of endurance. A year of learning that sometimes it’s ALL about the process (as much as we may want to skip it). We’ve seen Green Couch Design grow, we’ve taken on new adventures, we’ve seen family change and life has felt different in ways we never thought possible.
We’ve learned that sometimes life throws rain and 40 degree weather on THAT day, THAT day you’ve paid $100 to run 13.1 miles (who’s stupid idea…?!) But, that’s why you train. That’s why you have the strength to endure. So that on THAT day, in THAT moment, you have the courage to start and the faith to finish strong (or tired, cold, and just generally thankful that it’s ALL over!).
