The-Race

A Salute to Running Wives Everywhere

Meg just walked in after a 9 mile run. She’s sweaty, her face is flushed and she’s breathing hard… I have to say it, she’s gorgeous!

Meg and I just ran a 5K, my first race, this past month. Meg though has run a marathon, a half marathon ( I thought that seemed backwards to me too), and now she is training for her second half marathon while running 5K’s with me. Pardon me for a second while I steal the computer and brag. My wife is awesome!

All you guys out there who have a runner wife, she deserves some flowers this week. After facing blistering winds, frigid temps and burning muscles, she comes home and cleans the house, makes dinner and buys groceries. The simple truth is she’s amazing!

So I salute the running wives. You push us to be better, you show us how to keep going even in a 20mph wind. We can’t do it without you, and for all the husbands everywhere I’m saying thanks!

I love this. I have been trying to turn my obsession for knitting into an obsession for running for a couple of years….this post makes me want to go run! :)

Amy, YOU CAN DO IT!! Just take it one step, one mile, one race at a time! :) I love being outside and getting some fresh air. Totally worth it… even when it’s cold and windy! ;)

Well… we don’t have kids yet! ;) Things might change after that!

I would think that’s why he’d be exciting about my running ;) Keeps me in shape after having kids, plus I try to do it before they wake up … makes me a more reasonable wife and mother when I have those 30-60 (to 120) minutes of time just for myself. I think he’d actually like to join me, but because of the kids, the logistics are tough.
