Unless you’re a snowman, or an icicle dependent on frigid temperatures for survival, spring time is pretty much universally accepted as a sweet time of year, and a nice time for dating sweetly.
As the day was just beginning to retire, but the air was still warm & the sky not quite pink yet, I asked my lovely lady if she’d care to join me for a stroll around the neighborhood – to get landscaping ideas for when we eventually buy a house together. As the words tumble from my mouth, an immediate sense of team & intimacy was conjured. Beginners luck.
Ice Cream Cone = $2.00
We grabbed an ice-cream to sustain us while we walked, then took to the streets. Before long we happened upon a field through which people could short cut, like in the stories of the old days before cars were invented.
Picking Flowers = $0.00
We’ve been told risk taking has the potential to increase the verve in a relationship, and with this in mind we chose to venture back in time, and stepped courageously off the paving and onto the dirt path cutting through the grass, & in the process, stumbled upon wild flowers, which were growing…wildly!
Frolicking = Priceless
There’s something about wild flowers & fields that just makes a man want to frolic, when he’s with the woman he loves. So I didn’t repress these urges & frolic I did (don’t be ashamed mate!).
Indoor Picnic for Two + Flower Arranging = $0.00
We arrived home just on dusk. The time outdoors inspired us for a picnic… inside & away from the mosquitoes.
A quick change for dinner & a simple meal of leftovers from the fridge while sitting on the floor, we then placed our treasures in fresh water, allowing them to fill the house with the fragrance of the wild… and as they did so, reminding us of our risk takings… and the promised verve that was to inevitably follow… Right after I cleaned the cobwebs from the back porch.
Total Date Night = $2.00 + leftovers
