GCD: Mixer Covers Providing Jobs for OKC Refugees!
It’s FINALLY HERE!! We’ve been working like busy little bees updating our kitchen line and providing you with the best handmade quality we can. We are so excited to announce our partnership with The Spero Project. Through our new found friendship Green Couch Design is supplying jobs for Refugee Women right here in our city.
The Spero Project aims to partner the resources of the local church with the needs of the International Refugee population, specifically through education, job training, social networking, spiritual growth, and advocacy. Due to war or persecution refugees have had to flee their country because of a well-founded fear of their lives and those of their family. The refugees are brought to their designated country (in our case the United States) having been awarded legal refugee status by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
We are so proud that our NEW mixer covers are now being made by these women. Paid a fair wage we work one-on-one to offer a since of adjustment to life in America and create a work-at-home environment that allows these women to stay at home with their children.
It means so much to us that our products give back to people in need right here in our BIG city.
