Kids art is the best. They are not afraid to draw (or speak) exactly what they think. They put their innocence right out there on the table for all the world to see and in moments like these…it’s the most precious, most perfect piece of art we’ve ever seen.
After 5 weeks in the hospital Cale’s dad is finally home!
I had this grand idea for a handmade sign. It was going to be perfect. The letters would have been cut out just right, the words and artwork done with precision, all connected to the perfect color scheme to match my in-laws decor. With that said, the day we brought Larry home came so quickly that I ran out of time.
But when we arrived we found something even better waiting for us. Something I would have spent HOURS on. It was a handmade sign made by the children of some close family friends.
As designers we’re trained to focus on the details. To get everything just right. To look for that “ah” moment in your design where the dominate piece is balanced with that perfect amount of white space. We’re taught to make our straight lines straighter and to make our colors match.
I think, sometimes, we over think it.
Welcome home dad. After 5 weeks in the hospital you’ve gained more bodily exposure than anyone (besides a pregnant lady) should have to endure, a keen since of smell and love-hate relationship with Ensure, along with drug-influenced dreams of African Wildebeests.
It’s been a long trek but we love you and are so proud of you.
