Welcome to our NEW home office. A laundry room turned design studio, production laboratory, packaging center, craft organizer, and the sorta “catch all” room for holiday wrapping paper, outdoor summer games, canning supplies, etc.
Let’s just say when you live in a little farm house you need all the extra room you can get. With that said my very sexy, architect degree, handy-man husband had a blast creating a functional space all out of materials we had around the house.
Desk made from solid pine beams 12″ x 3″ we rescued from an old barn.
Shelves made out of wooden wine crates we collected from local wine vendors.
Spare metal flashing for our magnetic inspiration board.
Wine crate drawers created for easy to access office supplies.
Josie our dog…trying to steal the show.
An “out” box for online orders and a drop cloth curtain to hide laundry when we’d rather stay buried in work. The washing machine/dryer serve as the perfect counter tops for our packaging station…at least until we need underwear.
A giant white board Cale’s mom used when she home-schooled all 5 kids! It’s the perfect way to keep our right brain organized.
In the meantime we’re working on our other spare bedroom serving as 1/2 guest room, 1/2 production room for stamping tea towels, planting tufa pots, storage, etc. Also, Cale’s been fixing up his “man shop” outside so he can stop using the house as a place for charm acid dips and concrete grinding. We’ve found we need a definite place for work stations otherwise the kitchen table is never available for it’s intended purpose of family meals and game nights.
Look for more pictures of our home office organization in the future. At least until we have kids…I think we’ve got it figured out.
