We’ve been working for months now on new ideas, new dreams, and new goals. It was scary because we took the time to question everything, to drag it all out on the table and say ok…what is all this and where do we want to go with it. When you get to that place it’s one of those ‘come to Jesus’ moments when you know this is going to affect your entire life.
Sometimes you walk clients through a design process, provide the tools and the resources to help them maintain their brand, and send them on their way. And then there are those exciting opportunities where they come back for more…
I’ve come to the conclusion that if there would be a place I could compare the Big Island of Hawaii to, it would be the garden of Eden-except thankfully, Hawaii doesn’t have snakes!
It’s that time of year where the wind is getting a little sharper and the grass is growing slower, the leaves are just starting to show a hint of yellow and winter is just around the corner. So what am I doing running a rototiller and putting down manure? Well this just happens to be the best time for garden preparations to begin.
With musical influences like the Beatles, Beach Boys, Flaming Lips (represent Okie’s!), Dr. Dog, and Neutral Milk Hotel, the Sunshine Dreamers needed a visual brand that would display their rock/indie style and happy go lucky tunes. The simple, psychedelic, sunflowers remind us of simpler days “We’re we wished time would just float away.”
For those of you who don’t know we’ve been partnering with the wonderful people over at midwestmedia & marketing and it’s just turned out to be a fantastic relationship! Not only do we love working with them but we also get to jump on board cool projects like this one…
Whether it’s with the plants, animals, WWOOFers (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms), or maybe former ideas on what you thought you knew about Hawaii, organic gardening, or life for that matter…the philosophy here on the farm remains: “out with the old and in with the new”.
It’s fall and you know what that means…time to celebrate all things that warm our hearts like hearty soups and sweaters. I’ve been spending a lot more time in the bean aisle recently just exploring all the colors and facets of beans. Not only are they super cheap but they are another way to eat healthy and fresh foods all winter long.
My first real attempt at ‘life photography’ up to this point I’ve just pointed and shot, now I’m trying to actually capture the moment and bring it to life. So the State Fair was a great opportunity to capture people as people. Life in the crowd. We had so much fun, and laughed at the odd food items and the weird attractions. So here is a taste of what we found interesting at the Oklahoma State Fair…Hope you enjoy!
